Sparrow is a three wheel car driven by the rear wheel while the front two do the steering. This a configuration many folks have come to refer to as a “reverse trike”. The Sparrow’s three wheel design provides less rolling friction while it reduces vehicle weight and overall footprint.
With it’s monocoque chassis, highly efficient battery pack and patented swingarm drive system, the Sparrow weighs in at 1,440 pounds. To put that into perspective, that’s roughly 500 pounds more than a Honda Goldwing motorcycle and 600 pounds less than a Smart Car coupe.
Naturally, the rider is positioned in the center of the triangular footprint for best center of gravity and rider protection. The Sparrow’s diminutive size even allows it to park like a motorcycle in some areas.
