Rewind to 1995.
The very first Sparrow was still just a sketch on a yellow notepad, but Mike had the guys in R&D start working on a “Mule” to test out the concept. Looking like little more than a go-cart project, this first iteration was pretty quickly put together just to get a rough idea of the footprint and size that would be needed.
Once that was figured out, the 2nd Mule was made to include a roll cage, seat belts and all the other safety equipment so we could put a license plate on it and start the real testing.
