Comfort and Convenience
Cabin temperature is rarely agreed on. People arrive dressed differently, sit in different amounts of sunlight and simply feel warmth differently, so a setting that suits the driver can read as too cool for someone behind.
Safety and Driver Assistance
Before setting off it is worth locating the lights, wipers, mirrors and hazard switch. Finding them while parked means a driver is not searching for a control at the moment it is actually needed.
Multimedia and Connectivity
On longer trips a phone used for navigation drains quickly, so somewhere to charge becomes a practical concern. Where a charging point is available, its position decides whether the phone stays reachable or ends up in a footwell.
